Taking a Stroll through the Neighborhood

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

Once the puppies reach 3 weeks of age, they are ready to begin the SOCIALIZATION PERIOD. Throughout the next few weeks, we will expose them to many new experiences - specifically new sights, sounds, people, animals - so that they have a robust knowledge of the world around them. This will allow them to become well-rounded adults and ready to be mature members of their new families when they go home.

Today, we take the puppies around the neighborhood in their red wagon. Until they are fully vaccinated, puppies should not go for walks. But we do not want to wait that long to get them used to all the stimuli of a neighborhood - road noise, basketballs bouncing, kids screaming, garage doors opening, etc. The puppies responded with both curiosity and confidence, an amazing sign that they are handling the experience with comfort.

Stay tuned for more daily experiences.
