Playing Hide-and-Seek

Mental stimulation is so important for puppies. A bored puppy can begin exhibiting behaviors of frustration, aggression, and/or regression in obedience training. Giving puppies activities where he/she must problem-solve continues to enhance their intelligence level and expose them to positive stress.

One of our favorite activities is HIDE-AND-SEEK! We begin by hiding in a location that isn’t too obscure. We call out to the pup with the "puppy, puppy, puppy" recall we consitently use with them to catch their attention. Once the pup finds us, we reward them with treats, belly rubs, or even a favorite toy. As they catch onto the game, we make it more challenging by hiding in more difficult locations throughout the house.

It is fun for both the puppy and us humans!
