From day one, puppies that come from a large litter have to learn how to share everything. Sharing mamma's milk can be an early cause for frustration, especially when mamma has less teats than pups. But undergoing small levels of stress is actually a good thing for puppies. While we ensure that each puppy is gaining an appropriate amount of weight, we do not intervene in their natural feeding process. Successfully coping with frustrations can help them to learn how to manage stressful situations in the future. So, these early, natural moments of frustration teach them how to cope with negative experiences, which in turn, helps them become stronger adults - mentally & emotionally.
